The Forge Family Institute
Strengthening Families. Strengthening Recovery. Strengthening Communities.
The Forge Family Institute is the family education and support engine of The Forge Institute.
We believe that sustainable recovery is rarely achieved in isolation. Families, caregivers, and other natural supports profoundly influence long-term outcomes, yet they are often underserved, underprepared, and overwhelmed.
Our mission is to equip families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become healthy partners in healing.
The Forge Family Institute exists to transform family involvement from an afterthought into a cornerstone of recovery, resilience, and human flourishing.
Our Mission
To educate, equip, and empower families through evidence-informed education, practical tools, coaching, and community so they can support lasting recovery while building healthier family systems.
Our Vision
To become the leading institute for family education in behavioral health, establishing a new national standard for how organizations engage, educate, and partner with families.
Our Philosophy
We recognize that addiction, mental illness, and trauma affect entire family systems. Healing requires more than clinical treatment—it requires informed families, healthy boundaries, effective communication, resilience, and hope. Drawing on Applied Human Systems Science, family systems principles, implementation science, and recovery research, we develop practical resources that families can use in everyday life.
The Family Ecosystem
Rather than offering isolated support groups, the Forge Family Institute provides a comprehensive continuum of education and support that accompanies families throughout the recovery journey.
